Dance of the Sun presents an astounding, hypnotic journey between music and dance, revealing an ode to life, loss, hope, and love. On stage, thirty musicians dance while playing by memory masterpieces of Lully and Mozart, with the celebrated Juan Kruz Díaz de Garaio Esnaola, who delivers a breath-taking and unforgettable performance.

Geneva Camerata is a unique, adventurous, eclectic, and audacious orchestra that presents the most unusual and ground-breaking artistic projects in the classical world. J. K. D. de Garaio Esnaola, Choreographer
A daring dancer, choreographer, musician, and stage director, Juan Kruz Díaz de Garaio Esnaola is hailed as one of today’s most fascinating artists in the field of contemporary dance. Born in Legazpi, Spain, he began his musical studies as a singer, at the San Sebastián Conservatory, and later at the Early Music School in Amsterdam.
A stunning self-taught dancer, he was quickly spotted by several renowned choreographers in Europe, such as Pieter Scholten, Emio Greco, Arthur Rosenfeld, Luc Dunberry and Lloyd Newson, all of whom invited him to collaborate with their dance companies.
Since 1996, Juan Kruz Díaz de Garaio Esnaola is a member of the Sasha Waltz Dance Company in Berlin, where he participates in numerous choreographic shows and tours, while also collaborating with other companies on various projects. In addition to his work as choreographer and performer, he is also a guest professor at the Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen, and he regularly gives masterclasses around the world.
Martí Corbera, Dancer
Martí Corbera studied at the School of Dramatic Art in Barcelona, quickly receiving prizes, scholarships and distinctions from prestigious institutions and competitions in Spain. These awards opened new doors, and established his first collaborations and residencies with dance companies in Madrid and New York.
Spotted by mentors as an exceptional talent, Martí Corbera began flamenco dancing and became Principal Dancer in the biggest flamenco companies in Spain starting before he was 20. In addition to the Andalusian Flamenco Ballet and the Cie Danza Larreal, he was invited by Flamencos en Route as a solo dancer to perform as part of a large international tour.
