Assistant to the Director
This is a
fantastic business to be part of if you like working closely

very nice building on High Street, convenient to all public
transportation and the Arts Quarter of New Zealand's largest
city. You will
need to be energetic, highly organized, articulate both in
writing and on the telephone, computer literate, and have
familiarity with or interest in classical music. The kind of
work suits someone who enjoys making sure details are
accurate or who has an interest in an arts management
career. It will be
a advantage if you have database, web design, financial
software, or project management experience, or the potential
to learn these skills. Recent graduates in Arts
Administration would be ideal candidates as this position
will expose you to all aspects of the field. To be

description Answer
telephone; maintain email correspondence; coordinate
schedules for company's artist clients; process contracts
and negotiation details; maintain contact databases and
mailing lists; maintain client biographies, photographs,
reviews and other materials; find answers to questions and
disseminate information in a discerning manner; assist
visiting artists; keep track of the myriad details involved
in artist engagements with sponsoring organizations to
ensure their visits are smooth and successful; and other
general office duties. Hours are
9 - 5:30 M-F with evening concert-going duties possible.
Travel may be involved. Office is located on level 2 of the
Southern Cross Building on High Street in downtown
Auckland.
